Volta Media Turns Three + Special Offer
Three years ago today I was sat in my University house share having finally figured out what I was going to do once my degree came to an end in just a few short months.
Three years ago today I was sat in my University house share having finally figured out what I was going to do once my degree came to an end in just a few short months.
I had toyed with the idea of running my own business a few times since school. The freedoms of being my own boss drew me further and further towards the idea.
Initially, I created a digital technology publication, soon followed by a web design agency. Both of which closed their doors within a year. Through these experiences, I started to figure out the kind of direction I wanted to head in.
I'd been making short 'films' - if you could even call them that - from a young age, using my parents crappy camcorder to make equally crappy videos, but it never really clicked as something I could do for a living.
It wasn't until I began university that I truly understood my passions lied in filmmaking, and so began my quest to figure out how I could do this as a career.
I spent my spare time in the first and second years of my degree working as a freelance camera operator, throwing my hand in to help on any job I could.
While doing this, I quickly realised there was a common issue that clients seemed to face, they were paying thousands for videos that they had no clue how to use.
It was at this moment the idea for Volta Media was born.
A video production company that didn't just turn up to produce the videos, but helped with the long term strategy, delivery & promotion of the videos.
Circling back around to the beginning of this story, after half a year of planning and with a few months left of my degree, I finally took pen to paper, and Volta Media House became a limited company.
The last three years have been an absolute rollercoaster.
There has been a lot of ups and downs as I gradually adjusted from being in a freelance mindset. Trying to find the money to keep going month after month.
Coming to the end of our third year, the future looks bright.
- We've made 130 videos for 13 clients.
- We're educational video specialists, as opposed to video generalists.
- We're giving back to the community through our social impact programme.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of my clients I have had over the last three years. Without your support and trust, as I've tried to get this business off the ground, I wouldn't be writing this today.
Thank you!
Anyway, the headline of this post mentions a special offer.
