Case Study

AbleStay

We produced a short film to promote a crowdfunding campaign and spread awareness for the charity AbleStay.

AbleStay is a charity whose mission is to provide fully accessible holiday accommodation to disabled people and their families.

They have created London’s first fully accessible holiday home, complete with ceiling track hoists, profiling beds, adaptive bathrooms, and so much more. The newly renovated holiday home enables disabled people and their families the opportunity to finally explore our capital city.

Their Problem

AbleStay had purchased their first holiday home in London but still needed funding to help create the right adaptations and install the right equipment to ensure it is fully accessible to disabled people with more specialist needs.

AbleStay also needed help spreading awareness of the charity and gaining support for their crowdfunding campaign.

"We were struggling to figure out the best way we could tell our story"

Our Solution

We created a short film for AbleStay that told the personal story of Jo and Charles, the charities founders, and their disabled son Kit, who always wanted to visit London but has been limited by his disabilities.

It was essential to tell their story and showcase the fantastic facilities that the holiday home offers and how much of a positive impact it will have on disabled people and their families who don’t get the opportunity to travel.

A big part of the video was appealing to the public for support and donations to help the charity fund the next stage of their project.

“We had a good discussion on the phone with Izak, and he grasped what we needed to do and understood our project with empathy and understanding.”

The Results

The video we created has helped showcase AbleStay, their work and their mission, resulting in a massive surge of donations and support from the public, raising over £48,000 with their crowdfunding campaign.

“We had a crowdfunding video made, and initially, we had no idea what to expect. Volta Media was exceptionally professional and had a good understanding of our charity and the story we wanted to tell. This is shown beautifully through the video they created. AND we raised £48,000! Highly recommended.”
